We launched a newfangled political bell & whistle today called the Election Oracle! What’s that? Well, it essentially tracks millions of mentions of the GOP candidates over blogs and social media and determines who’s having a good day—and who’s down in the dumps. It’s “the most extensive and immediate opinion generator ever invented,” per our first post!
From today’s data, it appears Ron Paul is going through a bit of a drought after the Iowa caucuses while Newt Gingrich, possibly buoyed by his relentless attacks on frontrunner Mitt Romney, is enjoying quite the surge. That—and an endorsement from a four-time champion of the world’s longest snowmobile race.
It clearly looks as though Ron Paul lost when Newt Gingrich gained. Interesting data.
