We’re back with the also-rans, a nifty little nwk tumblr feature that looks at the magazine covers that never were, left on our cutting room floor. Once again, here’s Newsweek creative director Dirk Barnett: 

This week, we had a gripping story from Daniel Klaidman on Obama and the Navy SEALs. At first, we wanted something very movie poster-ish and heroic, like these options. But we eventually opted for something less quiet and more energetic and in your face (with some magic by Gluekit).
