GOOD Magazine wants to be Reddit for social good, lays off editorial staff

From the Columbia Journalism Review: GOOD Magazine recently laid off almost all of their editorial staff, “as part of a a move from being a journalism-focused outlet to a community engagement platform.”

Megan Greenwell, former managing editor at GOOD told CJR: “They said they wanted to be a Reddit for social good.”

Six of GOOD’s nine-person editorial staff were laid off, and two others were offered and accepted buyouts.

But…Reddit does lots of social good, non?
