The literary agent wrote down what he said… He said he was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia… Now they’re saying it was a mistake. Just like his Kenyan grandmother said he was born in Kenya, and she pointed down the road to the hospital, and after people started screaming at her she said, ‘Oh, I mean Hawaii.’ Give me a break.””

- That’s Donald Trump telling us he’s pretty damn certain Barack Obama was born in Kenya. Birthers! Ugh.

I've been reading Newsweek since I was 16 (25 now) and I must say Newsweek is by far the most consistent news magazine. You guys constantly shed light on issues and topics looked over or only grazed upon by the 24hour news machine. For that I salute you guys!

Edit Producer: This is a part-time position on the edit side working with production to build our stories for the web and our iPad app. You’ll be fiddling with copy and making our content look beautiful. Shepard Fairey Piece of the Day: Ebony magazine commissioned street artist Shepard Fairey (of Obeyand HOPE fame) to create artwork of the late Trayvon Martin to accompany a piece in this month’s issue. Fairey writes:

I have followed Trayvon’s case closely and I think any compassionate human being can relate to Trayvon as a brother or son and would want to see a thorough investigation into the killing of an unarmed person. In my portrait I wanted to emphasize Trayvon’s humanity as well as the public outcry for a just investigation into his death.

The public outcry portion can be seen from the protesters images in his hoodie. We like that touch.
